New Cube Access is now a verified Axis Global Partner View on Axis ↗
Native on Axis · Any IP camera over the network

The cameras Cube Cam works with.

Cube Cam puts the cameras you already own on the cloud. Axis Cameras run it natively — an app on the camera with detection at the edge. Cameras from Hikvision, Dahua, Hanwha, Bosch, Reolink and more connect over the network with ONVIF or RTSP. Two paths, one dashboard.

Two ways to connect

How your camera reaches the cloud.

Every camera works. The difference is whether the intelligence runs on the camera itself or in your cloud.

Axis — native, on the camera

Cube Cam installs as an ACAP app directly on the Axis Camera. Face recognition and PPE detection run at the edge, so only what matters travels to the cloud — no server, no adapter, no NVR. This is the deepest, lowest-bandwidth experience. More on Axis cloud storage.

Everything else — over the network

Cameras from other brands connect to your cloud over ONVIF or RTSP — the standard streaming protocols nearly every IP camera speaks. You get live view, cloud recording, and AI events processed in your cloud, with nothing extra to install on the camera.

Brands

Popular cameras we work with.

A selection of the brands customers connect most often. Axis is native; the rest connect over the network.

Axis — native Hikvision Dahua Hanwha (Wisenet) Bosch Reolink Uniview Vivotek Amcrest Lorex Panasonic Sony Ubiquiti + any ONVIF / RTSP camera

ONVIF implementations vary between brands and models, so we recommend confirming your specific camera. Don’t see yours? If it supports ONVIF Profile S/T or exposes an RTSP stream, it almost certainly works — tell us your model and we’ll check.

FAQ

Camera compatibility — common questions

Which cameras work with Cube Cam?

Axis Cameras run Cube Cam natively as an on-camera app with edge AI. Cameras from other brands — including Hikvision, Dahua, Hanwha (Wisenet), Bosch, Reolink, Uniview, Vivotek, Amcrest, Lorex, Panasonic, and Sony — connect over the network using ONVIF or RTSP. In practice, almost any IP camera with an ONVIF profile or an RTSP stream can be used.

What’s different about using an Axis Camera?

On Axis, Cube Cam installs directly on the camera and runs face recognition and PPE detection at the edge, so there’s no server or adapter and only relevant video reaches the cloud. Other brands connect over the network and have their AI events processed in your cloud instead.

My camera brand isn’t listed — will it work?

Probably. The list shows the most common brands, not the limit. If your camera supports ONVIF Profile S or T, or exposes a standard RTSP stream, it should work. Send us the make and model and we’ll confirm.

Do I need any extra hardware to connect a non-Axis camera?

No. Non-Axis cameras connect over the network with the protocols they already support, so there’s no adapter box or recorder to buy. Axis cameras run the app on the camera itself — also no extra hardware.

Can I mix camera brands on one account?

Yes. Run Axis, Hikvision, Dahua, and others side by side under one dashboard, each on the plan you choose per camera.
